Over the past decade, the BBC’s Real Madrid (Bel Benzema-Cristiano) and Barcelona’s MSN (Messi-Suarez-Neymar) have emerged as the most offensive attacking trio in the world.

The players understood each other perfectly and tormented their opponents with their deadly finishes and sharp moves. Sadly, all three have since disbanded, making way for others to take center stage.

Ex-Liverpool player Mane may not be able to match Lewandowski’s output, but he has shown up with his fair share of impressive goals. Since the start of the season, Mane has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.

As Thomas Müller struggles to live up to his billing this season, Choupo-Moting has emerged as Bayern’s third most effective striker. The former Paris Saint-Germain player has played 16 matches this season, scoring 11 goals and three assists.

He is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 13 goals in 16 matches, and is also the top scorer (along with Salah) in the UEFA Champions League, with seven goals in six matches.

Neymar comes second with 15 goals and 13 assists in 22 matches in all competitions. He has been particularly stunning in Ligue 1, scoring 11 times and assisting his teammates 10 times in 16 matches.

Finally, there’s seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi, who has played like a man owned this season. After sending Argentina to the World Cup in December, Messi is trying to conquer everything with Paris Saint-Germain. He’s scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists in 20 matches across all competitions so far, and so far he’s showing no signs of stopping.
