(Paris) The far-right presidential candidate said on Tuesday that Eric Zemmour (Reconquest!) spoke on the phone on Monday with former US President Donald Trump, who advised him to be “honest.”

“I spoke with Donald Trump for half an hour about our own campaigns,” Majadel told the press.
The interview was confirmed on BFMTV by Randy Yalloz, representative of the Republican Party in France, Trump’s party, who participated in the exchange.
“It seemed to me interesting to compare our views on the fate of both France and the United States caught in the turmoil of the same war of civilizations,” the candidate explained.
“He told me to be myself, the media would call me brutal but I have to be honest and the important thing is to keep my loyalty, I think he’s right,” Mr. Zemmour said.
He insisted that “apart from our differences and our analyses, we have one thing in common: Mr. Trump wants the United States of America to remain the United States of America, and I want France to remain France, and that is the main thing.” .
Asked about Marine Le Pen’s failure to get such an interview in 2017, Eric Zemmour replied: “Everyone has a chance in life.”
Her far-right rival made a surprise visit to Trump Tower, where Donald Trump is headquartered in New York, in January 2017, but she did not meet the future US president or any member of his team.
“When the government of Donald Trump responded positively to our various requests, we took this call with great pleasure,” the candidate’s spokesperson, LR Guillaume Peltier, explained Tuesday morning on France 2:

In Parliament, Representative Agger Pierre-Yves Burnazl criticized the phone call: “We don’t want Trump for France, this far-right populism that has led to chaos and division of American society,” he said.
Eric Zemmour recently called for the construction of a “wall” on “all external borders” of the European Union to fight immigration, recalling Donald Trump’s Mexico policy.
He was also inspired by a poster of the former US President for his way of appearing on the cover of his latest book.
Eric Zemmour was known on his frantic international travels before campaigning to London and Geneva, having beaten his opponent in the fall with Viktor Orban in Budapest.
