BPCE is ready to move its IT to Portugal

The banking group Banque Populaire Caisse d’Epargne is preparing to transfer part of its IT activities to Portugal, Porto. The combined consortium calls for the transfer of 12 BPCE-IT services.

Like many banking players, such as BNP Paribas or Credit Agricole, the French banking institution Banque Populaire Caisse d’Epargne is preparing to move part of its IT activities to Portugal. According to the document sent by the company’s trade union, this project will lead to the complete relocation of 12 BPCE-IT services to Porto, directly affecting 58 employees. In addition, work in mixed mode (France/Portugal) in relation to 47 other services will concern all employees directly or indirectly. As a result, BPCE-IT employee representatives from the CGT, CFDT, CFTC, SUD, SNB and Unsa unions called on the banking group’s employees to strike on 17 January. Union organizations reported a mobilization of 450 people. They announced in a publication that they strongly oppose the transfer and outsourcing of BPCE-IT activities to CSE as part of the DragonFly project.
