Synology has just released a new version of its Synology DSM 7.2 internal software update 1. The update contains only a couple of fixes, but they are very important. Feel free to upgrade your NAS…
Synology DSM 7.2-64570 Update 1
After DSM 7.2-64561 and DSM 7.2-64570, Synology is back with its first major official update. If we look at changelogDSM 7.2-64570 Update 1 contains only two fixes:
- Btrfs volumes may not be able to run volume optimization successfully;
- Disk replacement may not work correctly for SHR volume groups.
If you’re using the Btrfs file system and/or SHR storage group, you’ll understand… This update is a must.
Download and install DSM 7.2
As a reminder, DSM can automatically assess whether your Synology NAS needs this update. It’s like antibiotics, it’s not systemic… However, if you want to get the latest DSM 7.2 Update 1, you’ll have to check out Official archive site And download the corresponding PAT file to your NAS. The file size is around 25MB. Next, log in to the DSM management interface and then go to Control Panel > Update and Restore And click the button Manual update DSM and finish pressing the button browse. Select the previously downloaded file and click the OK button. All you have to do is wait less than 10 minutes for the NAS to restart.
