Paris Saint-Germain: Pembélé is consistent in the three-man defence
Forced to deal with a bloodless defensive sector, denied Sergio Ramos, Presnel Kempembe, Markinhos or even Nordi Mukele, all injured, Christophe Galtier still wanted to hold his defense at five. However, this forces him to innovate when it comes to facing Rennes on Sunday (5pm), at an unusual time for a capital club this season. To surround the young Bitshiabu, the only properly trained defender, the French technician chose to add the experienced Danilo Pereira.
Most surprising, however, is the youngster Timothy Pembili who completes this trio, while Nuno Mendes and Juan Bernat will be responsible for moving the lanes. In midfield, Christophe Galtier trusts the trio of Marco Verratti, Fabian Ruiz and Vitina. Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe – pass and goal in Brest (2-1) – continue to lead the attack. Coming off the bench, PSG must feel the absence of many executives.
Deprived of the Brazilian Neymar package, until the end of the season, but also of Carlos Soler, Galtier kept a group of 20 players made up of many Parisians, some of whom had not been called up before, such as the right-back. From the U19 team Hugo Lamy (19) and defender Nehemiah Fernandez-Veliz (18). In the attacking sector, Ismail Gharbi and Elias Hosni, together with Hugo Iquitec, will be Christophe Galtier’s only assets in attack.
XI of Paris Saint-Germain: Donnarumma – Pembele, Danilo, Picchiappo – Bernat, Vitina, Verratti, Ruiz, Nuno Mendes – Messi, Mbappe.
