In France: A wild boar climbs to the fourth floor of a building before being slaughtered

Residents of Montpellier in southern France were terrified when they discovered a wild boar loitering on the roof of their apartment.

Last week, Hérault County Hunters Association president Max Alles came face-to-face with the mammal on the fourth floor landing of an apartment building, 20 Minutes reported.

“If some are still convinced that the presence of wild boars in Montpellier is due to poachers, rest assured that poachers did not leave corn on the fourth floor of the building,” Alice said on Facebook.

He added jokingly: “These opportunistic wild animals are perfectly adapted to urban life, as well as the arid areas that provide them with housing, and they now seem to be moving towards communal housing.”

The animal was finally evacuated before it was slaughtered, which caused an uproar among public opinion, as evidenced by the numerous comments on social media that denounced the slaughter of the wild boar.

“Why would you shoot it? You hadn't given your share? Again it's unfortunate. But why does it surprise us that it comes from hunters,” asked one netizen, while another considered the slaughter of the animal “scandalous.”
