On Tuesday, the giant Apple announced the date for its next major event, which is September 12th. Analysts expect to see a new line of iPhones and Apple Watch smartwatches.
The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater located at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, based on invitations sent by Apple.
Wall Street analysts say that Apple will try to lure consumers with a slew of new features for its flagship device amid slumping global demand for smartphones.
Apple reported a 2.4% decline in iPhone sales in the third quarter of its fiscal year, a rare decline for a phone that has been the company’s growth engine for years.
The most expensive next-generation iPhone will come with a periscope camera that can improve the zoom ability by five times or more, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the expected set of watches could be equipped with a new processor based on the A15 Bionic chip from Apple, which was already used in previous iPhone models, and whose performance will be increased.
The event, called Wonderlust, will take place at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on Apple’s YouTube channel, as well as on the company’s website.
