Canada specifically targets “29 state-sponsored disinformation and propaganda activists” as well as “15 entities controlled or owned by the Russian government that engage in disinformation efforts.”

The Russian propaganda machine must respond to its lies. Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie said Canada is determined to fight disinformation everywhere and at all times.

The head of RT’s international coverage is one of the people Ottawa has indicated as having “significant” influence in Russia.

Ms. Jolie is currently visiting the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin took part on Friday.

The latter claimed that Russia “has not yet begun serious things” in Ukraine, a statement that the NATO community deemed a provocation.

Thus, the number of Russian and Belarusian individuals and entities subject to sanctions by Canada since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24 has increased to 1,150.
