The clash of civilizations applies to international politics

It is a fundamental duty: to understand the era in which we live.

Which means that we must live neither in the past nor in an imaginary future. This should not prevent us from learning the lessons of the past, nor from deciphering the main trends that will shape the future.

We are not on the cusp of World War II. In the heart of Europe there is no regime bent on controlling territory and physically annihilating a people by planning its industrial annihilation.

Those who want to prolong the war in Ukraine or extend it to the point of provoking a dynamic that will supposedly lead to the downfall of Putin and regime change in Moscow are living in a parallel universe, leading us to disaster. Forgetting that we are now in the nuclear age.

Nor are we in the era of the Cold War, where there were two great ideologies sharing the world, and it was necessarily necessary for one to triumph over the other.

We are no longer living after the Cold War, when the globalized American empire had to rule the entire Earth and subjugate the few places that were slow to transform in a great democratic crusade carried out by bombers.
