Exploratory stay: seven specialists discover the Coaticook region

Coaticook. Seven professionals and their families participated in an exploratory stay last weekend (March 30-31) to discover the Coaticook Migrant Resource Center from all its angles and, ultimately, come and settle there.

The activity, organized by Place aux Jeunes Coaticook, was attended by people from Algeria, Cameroon and Iran, who settled in Montreal less than two years ago. “They fell in love with our neighborhood,” says customer Michael Jack. They were fascinated by this proximity to nature, the countryside and the landscape. »

Among the stops of the trip, we note stops at the Ranch St-Hubert lodge in Saint-Herménégilde and in Divan Orange where it was possible to meet a few elected officials, including the governor of the MRC in Coaticook, Bernard Marion, and the MP of Saint-François, Genevieve Hubert,

Testimonials were also on the agenda, including those of Anouk Caron, of Rustic Bison, and Matthew Lavoie, himself a former participant in exploratory sojourns. The latter is now at the head of a youth hostel in the Stanhope sector.

An Easter coconut hunting trip as well as a dinner at Érablière Chez Grand-M'man in Saint-Herménégilde were also organized during this stay.

Place aux Jeunes is supported by Carrefour Coaticook in the region. It encourages the attraction, integration and retention of qualified young people between the ages of 18 and 35 in the region.
