The other four films selected are “Our Suns (Alcarràs)” by Spanish director Carla Simon, “Burning Days” by Turkish director Emin Alper, and “Feu follet (Will-o’-the-Wisp)” by Portuguese director João Pedro Rodriguez, and “Unfiltered (Triangle of Sorrow)” by Swedish director Robben Ostlund.
This award from the European Parliament aims to promote Human dignity, tolerance, justice, social integration. According to Lukas Dhont, artists need support to be able to express themselves freely.
“I think these five movies are about our human nature, it’s about our need for magic, for a place where we can invent ourselves.explains the Belgian director.
The European Parliament organized approx 500 offers Out of the 5 films in competition, each time subtitled into the 24 official languages of the European Union. These presentations were followed by discussions about cultural diversity and the topics covered by the various works.
