Triathlon has become an aquathlon. Swansea (Wales) was due to be the venue for the WTPS (World Paratriathlon Series) round on Saturday, but a strong gust of wind decided otherwise. Due to the weather conditions, the organizers logically preferred to skip the cycling part in order to continue swimming and running only.

Montluçonnais Yannick Bourseaux finished seventh after swimming 750m and running 5km in 30’59”. The race was won by Germany’s Martin Schulze at 27’43’, ahead of Brazil’s Ronan Cordero at 28’11’ and Portugal’s Philippe Marquez at 28’31’.

Clermontois Antoine Besse was not at the end of his ordeal, preferring to give up after a swim. Collective decision regarding change of competition format and minor calf pain.
