Football: Portuguese Gund will file a complaint against X after the match was stopped due to racist remarks

“He did not sleep all night,” said Amadeo de Sousa, president of the French-Portuguese club Jund Pontouvre. On Monday, which was heavily marked by “comments made on social networks that put our club into question when we are not responsible”, he wanted to provide his version of the facts about the top-flight match between his team and the Merbens reserve team at the Gond – Pontouvre Municipal Stadium.

If anyone from the club makes such comments, they will be expelled immediately.

The match was stopped and then stopped completely by the referee in the first half after one of the spectators insulted a young colored player from Merbyn, describing him as “dirty black,” before threatening to “throw him into the nearby provision area.”

“I was on the other side, and I didn't hear anything,” Amadeo de Souza explains. “But as soon as I became aware of the incidents, I personally expelled this person. He is not a fan of the club by any means, but rather a spectator we see from time to time in the stadium and I do not even know his name. Moreover, admission is free with us. »

“We are regularly victims of racist insults.”

The president continued: “But if someone from the club makes such comments, he will be excluded immediately,” not forgetting to point out that his club welcomes players of all nationalities and all colors. “We are also the first to unfortunately and regularly fall victim to racist insults,” he adds.

After a meeting on Monday, the club decided to “file a complaint against the club, with the only regret being that the match could not be resumed, because things were going well on the field.” The referee did not want to know anything and applied the league's instructions, which is unfortunately very rare.
