Violin under candlelight

Violin under candlelight

Under dim lighting, in a church lit only by candles, and therefore in an atmosphere dim and conducive to listening, the musicians of the string quartet “Ambitus” will present themselves to you, with no other intention than to make you relive an evening of music placed under the sign of magic, elegance, delight and splendor. The concert will take place on Saturday, September 10th at 8pm at Saint-Christophe-d’Arthabaska Church (40 Laurier Street) in Victoriaville.

On that evening, wonderful music, infinitely useful, will rise up, flooding the beautiful church with lights, imbued with inexpressible beauty and serenity. An evening that will be marked above all by the sonorous echo of music as beautiful as it is joyful. In short, a special concert, meant to be more than simple entertainment…a moment of happiness for the soul.

As a curtain-raiser, you’ll hear Pachelbel’s famous Cannon, one of the most famous works of classical music, followed by a suite of the three most beautiful cantos ever composed by Jacques Brel, soon followed by a violin concerto. None other than Antonio Vivaldi. Then The Last of the Mohicans Then the first part ends with three excerpts from the orchestral suite of Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen”, including the famous Toreador.

Bolero ravel followed by a surprise piece will open the second part of the ceremony. A surprise that dazzles the audience… Beautiful Jewish melodies and the famous Palladio tune by Carl Jenkins. A luscious mix of The Beatles’ greatest hits is sure to make us nostalgic for one of the most popular bands of all time. With this work, we will conclude the ceremony.
