Rumors of a Jet Set Radio reboot have been circulating around the Internet for years. We recall that Hideki Naganuma, the author of the original game, issued a tweet in May 2020 that seemed to poke fun at the return of this license that owners of the late Dreamcast have so appreciated. Last year, it was Bloomberg that bluntly dropped a story claiming that SEGA was already working on a new version of the game, as well as a Craxy Taxi reboot. Today, a photo and video is clearly setting the powder on fire on Twitter since a user posted a snippet of a video online (dating back in 2021) where we see a clip from Jet Set Radio’s “Next Generation” version. We see the character Beat, in front of the famous Shibuya alley in Tokyo, accompanied by two other characters. But that’s not all, in this same video we see that a Persona 3 remake is also in the works. In the video dating from two years ago, we also see images of Sonic Frontiers, long before they were revealed. So, the noose is being tightened around these revival projects that should be announced soon.
As for Crazy Taxi, we can assure you that SEGA is already working on a new game; So much so that the game Taxi messIt was released on Steam in 2021 until it caused a legal dispute between SEGA and publisher Lion Castle Entertainment…
Today’s Jet Set Radio leak has something to do with rumors we shared last July. As of last year, SEGA was moving forward with the project, but nothing has been heard from it since. https://t.co/9nrXIUzF6g pic.twitter.com/mhi4PhA286
