“But who owns this feather? Crossing perspectives between the naturalist and the molecular biologist. This is the title of the mature work by Laurie Ambrosini, 19, who won second prize in the Zoology category during the prestigious competition for young scientists at the Taiwan International Science Fair (TISF). ” which was held in Taipei last week. “In her work, Lorian meticulously compared two methods of identifying feathers and highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of each practice,” emphasizes expert Vincent Grognoz, in a press release issued by the Science and Youth Foundation. “The methods and results of this study “The comparison is very interesting and should be an inspiration to any biologist working in this field.”
TISF is an international competition that this year brought together 207 projects from 347 students, from 27 different countries, under the age of 20 in 13 different categories. To be able to present herself in the capital of Taiwan, Lauriane Ambrosini had already shone during the national competition held in April 2023 in St. Gallen. This competition will be held this year in Fribourg from April 25 to 27.
