Following sieges of some US universities, access to Sciences Po Paris was blocked by pro-Palestinian students on Friday.

Dozens of demonstrators occupied the Central Campus building and dozens more blocked its entrance using trash cans, boards, and bicycles. The demonstrators gathered in front of the building's windows, chanted slogans and hung banners that read: “We are all Palestinians”In doing so, she challenges the administration, which, according to the students, called the police during the previous demonstration.

The university closed all buildings and moved classes online on Friday. She said in her statement that: “It strongly condemns these student actions that prevent the proper functioning of the institution and punishes the students, teachers and employees of the Institute of Political Science.”

The press release explained that about sixty demonstrators were present inside the building.

Louise, a Sciences Po protester, said the actions of the University of Paris students were inspired by similar protests at Columbia University in New York and other campuses in the United States.

“But our solidarity remains first and foremost with the Palestinian people.”She said. She spoke on the condition that only her first name be used for fear of repercussions.

Students protesting the war between Israel and Hamas are sit-in at Columbia University in New York for the 10th day, one of many demonstrations that have rocked campuses from California to Connecticut.

Hundreds of students and even professors have been arrested across the United States, sometimes in clashes with police.
