The protest came two days after police dispersed another protest in a university lecture hall.

Dozens of demonstrators occupied the Central Campus building and dozens more blocked its entrance using trash cans, boards, and bicycles. Louise, a Sciences Po protester, said the actions of the University of Paris students were inspired by similar protests at Columbia University in New York and other campuses in the United States.
