Paulo Bernardo leaves Benfica for Celtic. The Portuguese on loan with an option to buy.
Like Jota before him, Paulo Bernardo sets out to conquer Scotland. In search of the playing time Benfica could not offer him, the 22-year-old midfielder joined Glasgow Celtic on loan with an option to buy. He trained at Seixal, and got his chance during the 2021-2022 season under Nelson Verissimo. However, the arrival of Roger Schmidt changed the situation since he returned to play for the second team the following year. In January, he then left on loan to Pacos Ferreira. Positive experience as in 13 games he scored 2 goals and 2 assists. Let’s hope luck smiles at him again, in the land of four leaf clover.
