Kyiv refuses any loss of territory

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said, on Friday, in Lisbon, that Ukraine rejects any peace mediation with Russia, indicating that it will not rule out from the beginning any loss of Kiev lands or stopping the fighting.

“There is no peace plan or initiative, and no mediation should involve a theoretical or real loss of Ukrainian territory,” he told the press in English after a meeting with his Portuguese counterpart, Joao Gomez Cravinho. No initiative or mediation should be based on the premise that we must freeze the conflict and then see what happens. »

Any mediation must lead to the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah on Friday and thanked him for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty. As early as March 2022, a week after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began, the de facto ruler of the Gulf monarchy called for a “political solution” to the conflict and offered to mediate during a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Any mediation should lead to the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity,” said the head of diplomacy in Kiev on Friday. Mr. Kouleba made the trip to Lisbon to take part in the top-secret Bilderberg meeting, which is being held this year in the Portuguese capital until Sunday.

Ukraine, Russia, NATO and transnational threats are among the topics discussed at this special conference, which brings together political and economic figures from Europe and North America on global issues.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and European Foreign Minister Josep Borrell are also on a list of around 130 participants released by the organisers.
