Besiktas announced, on Sunday, the arrival of Fernando Santos, the former Seleção coach, to coach the team.
Fernando Santos returns, not to the national team, but to the club. After coaching Greece (2010-2014), Portugal (2014-2022) and Poland (January 2023 – September 2023), the Portuguese technician is now coach of Besiktas. The Turkish Foundation announced the news on Sunday afternoon, via a press release. No details regarding his contract have been revealed yet.
The 69-year-old Portuguese technician has a tough job for himself given that the Aigles Noirs currently sit sixth in the SüperLig and are 18 points behind leaders Fenerbahce.
