Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump, the three billionaire children of Ivana, were reunited with the former first lady of the United States and current Republican wife, Melania, for a funeral at St Vincent Ferrer’s Church, in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
An AFP photographer noted that Donald Trump and Melania entered through a side door during a heavily guarded funeral. Inside, Eric Trump told the audience that his Czech-born mother was “the embodiment of the American dream” and “a force of nature,” the New York Post reported.
For her part, Ivanka Trump described her mother as a “pioneer” during this Catholic celebration, according to the New York tabloid.
Former model and skater Ivana Trump, who was married to Donald Trump from 1977 to 1992, died at the age of 73 last Thursday at her home in New York by mistake after falling down the stairs, according to several US media.
Throughout the 1980s, Trump was one of the most popular New York couples, and fame was boosted by the burgeoning real estate business of Donald Trump.
The high-profile split between them in the early 1990s, allegedly caused in part by Donald Trump’s affair with actress Marla Maples, provided sensational content to newspapers in New York.
Ivana Trump has continued her career in business, developing clothing, jewelry and beauty product lines and writing books. She has been married four times in her life, once before Donald Trump and twice after.
