Lightspeed Commerce management says the company is exploring how it can use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to help its customers.

CEO Dax DaSilva says AI could be useful for merchants wanting to write product descriptions if they have large quantities of merchandise.

He also sees it as potentially profitable for sellers looking to forecast how much they will need to buy for next season.

These tasks can take a lot of work and time that business owners don't have, DaSilva says.

He made the comments at the CIX Summit in Toronto on Wednesday, a little more than a month after returning to the helm of the Montreal technology company he founded in 2005.

M. Dasilva has confided in the company's projects to Jean-Paul Chauvet, a long-time employee of Lightspeed, in February 2022, because M. Dasilva has become the president's executive, but M. Chauvet does not work more than once. 'a company.
