As part of the implementation of the National Cancer Prevention and Control Plan, the statement notes that a structured program for early detection of breast and cervical cancer has been established to enhance presentation. Care in terms of screening, diagnosis and treatment of these two types of cancers. Thus, early detection in primary health care has been integrated and enhanced by building and equipping 43 reproductive health reference centers, 11 regional oncology centers, and two gynecological oncology centers of excellence. In addition, a set of organizational measures have been put in place to facilitate women’s access to screening services, early diagnosis and treatment in the best conditions, as well as to strengthen and mobilize partners, foreign ministerial departments and NGOs.
The Ministry recalls that breast and cervical cancers are the first recorded cancers among women in Morocco, with a rate of 38.1% and 8.1%, respectively, according to the data of the Cancer Registry.
