sFor the third time in eight days, Manchester United were unable to win a game after opening the scoring, as they drew 1-1 against Southampton on Saturday, in the opening day of the 25th day of the English Premier League. Bad pass symbol for the Red Devils: Cristiano Ronaldo again failed to increase his goal.
The Portuguese thought he scored, but his goal was disallowed for offside. Result: He fought a series of six matches, all competitions combined, without the slightest goal or assist. This is the first time since December 2008-January 2009, when he has been silent for seven meetings.
If he wants to avoid equalizing his worst streak, Ronaldo will have to trick the Brighton goalkeeper on Tuesday night. Manchester United will need to find ingenuity given the situation in the league.
The Red Devils are currently in fifth place with 40 points, equal on points with fourth-placed West Ham. But it could get even worse considering the clubs are behind: Arsenal have one point with two games less, Tottenham on four points by three games and Wolverhampton have six points with two games less.
