A 15-year-old boy tragically died when a tree fell on him during a severe thunderstorm in Anderson, Southern California.

Young footballer Evan Kenley was making his daily visit to his grandparents, around 5 p.m.

In the direction of the garage, a huge tree uprooted by the storm collapsed on it, according to Fox News information.

First responders attempted to quickly remove the tree from the youth’s body. Unfortunately, Evan had already died from his injuries from the tree.

His football team at TL Hanna School praised him on social media.

“Every time a student dies, it is very difficult for the school and the family. We can’t imagine what they are going through right now,” said Kyle Newton, Anderson District 5 Police Communications Officer.

Evan School said in a statement that it will provide support to students and staff to overcome this tragedy.
