17 candidates are competing to succeed Macky Sall and become president

7.3 million voters were finally called to the polls on March 24. Macky Sall, the country's outgoing president, who has been in power for 12 years, will not run for re-election. The matches are therefore very open, with 19 candidates competing. In fact, only 17 candidates remain, after two contenders withdrew from the race in favor of rival Bassero Diomai Faye, the replacement candidate for the former Pastev.
