Barrier-free airport… This is what Dubai International could soon look like thanks to the invention of Vision-Box, a Portuguese company we already owe the smart gates and biometrics systems at Dubai International Airport (DXB).
The company is actually discussing changing the airport as we know it today and making sure that it operates without check-in counters and even physical security checkpoints: passengers go to their boarding gate nonstop, without doors or barriers, they can return to their plane.
Soon the possibility of recording from home by taking a selfie
A way to save time and positively impact the traveler’s journeys (through the application of technology). Vision-Box is already working with Emirates Airlines to improve the “check-in” phase and may soon allow travelers to check-in by taking a selfie at home before going to the airport. Upon arrival at the airport, passengers will only have to drop their bags and pass through the border control points.
