Ténès-Tissemsilt port penetration: dead-end position and distant projects of the RN 19

The project to link the highway between the commercial port of Tines in the wilaya of Chlef and the neighboring wilaya of Tissemsilt, at a distance of 220 km, has been registered for a long time, as is the case for other penetrating roads linking the national coast. It could not, unfortunately, have been completed, apparently for financial considerations. Users and locals, especially those of the Sahel and North Chlef, are constantly wondering about the sad fate of this road jam project, on which many hopes were nevertheless built.

For their part, local officials have also raised projects to repeat the RN 19 between Chlef and Tennessee, the current main road that serves the coast of the state and the state capital. These are projects that can only be realized in the distant future as they are only at the beginning stage of launching technical studies.

In the meantime, what can be done to alleviate the daily suffering of users of the old national road that has reached saturation point? Relaunch the site as soon as possible when the first part of the hacked road is 50% complete or wait for the remote project of the RN 19 subdivision?

The answer is clear to the users and residents of the region who hope to see the completion of the aforementioned breach before it extends to the state of Tissemsilt as originally planned. As a reminder, the site of this structural project was closed in its first section with a length of 22 km between the East-West highway, at the level of the industrial zone in Wadi Sally, west of Chlef, and the municipality of Bouzkia towards the coastal city. from Tennis.

This extended closure not exceeding three years, with a completion rate of 50%, occurred after the construction of engineering structures and the development of the main road between the East-West highway and the municipality of Awlad Fares. This exposes these structures in particular to risks of deterioration associated with climatic and other hazards.

The implementation of the work was entrusted to a joint venture consisting of a Portuguese company (main partner), ETRHB and a local company.
