The twenty-sixth festival and the twenty-sixth anniversary of “Encounters… in the Campaign”, in association with the various cultural activities that expand and nurture the festival. At the opening of this new edition, words followed, evoking with the same view the importance of cinema: openness of mind, nourishment of emotions, development of critical sense, openness to the world. of sociability…
Since 2001, the history of the creation of the Gilbert-Aluzette cultural space, the Cinema Hall has been enlivened by the ambitious projects of Rencontres, among other things, meetings and exchanges around independent (mostly) and (mostly) French cinema. Partnerships are created with other festivals or associations (CinéLatino) to expand the Discovery offer. Reaching out to all audiences is also one of the association’s missions: since 2005, Encounters have been involved in the creation and coordination of the “School and Cinema” system in Aveyron, the “Faculty of Cinema” (in 2011), the programming of a film for each quarter of each academic year, the accompaniment and the “kindergarten in the cinema” ” last year. Targeted at dependent seniors, the “cine-s-ages” project offers a show followed by a snack and a bodywork workshop that promotes a person’s independence and well-being.
The organization of the festival is certainly the pinnacle of the association’s tasks, but the work is done throughout the year with the management of the hall’s programming. The president of Les Rencontres, Guy Bizet, insisted on the fact “The association and its volunteers have the desire and the will to continue their work. As for the money, we will find it!”. A reference to the elected officials at the level of municipalities, municipal councils, and departments present who support the association.
On the first evening of the festival, the audience was present for the meal and the opening show. And starting on Wednesday, the tent will be in place to welcome the celebratory moments of the event.
