His roommates use his body to withdraw money from the bank

Two women were arrested for using the body of their roommate, who died the same day, to withdraw money from a bank in Ohio on Monday.

Lauren Ferrallo, 55, and Karen Kassebaum, 63, discovered the body of their roommate, 80-year-old Douglas Lyman, on Monday morning and decided to stop along the way before delivering his body to the morgue, according to NBC News.

With the help of an unidentified third person, they placed Mr Lehman's lifeless body in a car in order to withdraw money from his bank account when he received the car from his bank. They had already made withdrawals in this way during his lifetime, which explains the reaction of the bank employees, who allowed the withdrawal, according to NBC News.

The first flaw in their plan was that they left Mr. Lehman's remains at Ashtabula County Medical Center without providing staff with sufficient information about the deceased, NBC News reported. They then contacted the hospital again to provide more information about the man, which would have allowed them to be identified as well as the body they had just left at the morgue.

Police then reportedly searched Mr Lehmann's home, where the two women were staying. They allegedly confessed to committing the crime during discussions with the police. They were later arrested and now face charges of aggravated abuse of a corpse.
