After expert analysis, Premier League stars who do not play in major teams have done better than their counterparts this season in the English Premier League.
A supercomputer has compiled the numbers and named the eleven best non-trading players in the so-called “Big Six” in the Premier League. With the exception of players representing Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United – the team that is better than the rest has been revealed. BetVictor calculators, using data from FBRef, calculate each player’s Z-score based on their offensive and defensive contributions. It is then weighted by who produces the most output per 90 minutes to see which stars outperform their competitors. Kieran Trippier, Declan Rice and Wolves star Robin Nevis form the midfield for this expertly assembled team.
It’s no surprise to see Wolverhampton goalkeeper Jose Sa in sticks, as the former Olympiacos player was rightly hailed as one of the summer’s deals. Replacing Rui Patricio is no small feat for a Portuguese player, but he has provided a real promotion for Bruno Lage’s team and is the highest-rated player on the list.
Ahead of SA, – Southampton’s Muhammed Salisu and Adam Webster Brighton play central defence, while West Ham’s Arthur Masuaku has been named left-back, despite not being the first choice at the London Stadium. Rice and Neves make up the engine room, with four other players having an attacking mindset. Crystal Palace is well represented in the attacking areas, with Wilfried Zaha and Michael Ulis overtaking their opponents in their positions. And with Leeds United having nine goals and two assists, it’s certainly no surprise to see Ravenha on the right wing. The only striker is Leicester City, not Jamie Vardy but Kelechi Iheanacho, who scored two goals and four assists in just 634 minutes of league matches.
