The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF)’s Disciplinary Board (CD) informed on Thursday that it had initiated disciplinary action against Pepe. An open approach based on an ugly gesture from the FC Porto defender on Sebastian Coates during the shock against Sporting Club de Portugal.
This action was opened due to a complaint from Sporting Club de Portugal against the person of Pepe. It relates to the events that occurred on September 11th during the match that was held at the Estádio Alvalade of the Lions. During a duel with Sebastian Coates, Pepe did not hesitate to punch the green and white captain.
On September 13, Sporting asked the League’s Coaches Committee (CI) to issue an indictment against Pepe. The club estimated that there had been, in the 32nd minute of the match, an attack on its captain Coates. This led to the opening of disciplinary proceedings against the Portugal international.
