Xiaomi Mi 11 has been announced with Snapdragon 888 and 120Hz OLED display

Xiaomi announced its new flagship phone for 2021: Mi 11. The Chinese variant of the phone features a revised design and upgraded specifications that give a good look at the kind of advanced features that will be shipped by the best Android phones next year, according to Anand Tech. There are bound to be some changes to the European and global versions of the Mi 11, but for now, that’s an early peek at what will likely be the first major flagship of Android in 2021.

Changes in the design of Mi 11 compared to Mi 10 seem minor. From the front, the screen is slightly larger at 6.81 inches compared to the 6.67-inch Mi 10. This extra space appears to have come from shrinking the edges of the device (always welcome), while increasing height and keeping the curved sides and punch-hole camera at the front.

What’s more exciting is the 3200 x 1440 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate on the new OLED display, two features that have quickly become indispensable in the modern flagship, although of course they are absent from the latest iPhones. In another noticeable difference, the Mi 11 will also feature an under-display fingerprint sensor.

The back of Mi 11 bears the most visible changes. The vertical camera “bean” of the Mi 10’s iPhone X-esque is gone, and in its place is a thin “glass cake”. Mi 11 features three rear cameras: a 108MP main sensor, a 5MP telephoto, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. Mi 11 also has a faster 50W wireless charging (previously on Mi 10 Pro) to be paired with a 4,600mAh battery.

Moving from the battery to the rest of the interior, the Mi 11 is powered by Snapdragon 888 It offers either 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. Storage starts at 128GB or 256GB, which is still unfortunately generous in the smartphone world. Like most new smartphones, Mi 11 also has Wi-Fi 6 and 5G support. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the Mi 11 will follow in Apple and (It said) Samsung’s footsteps in Remove the shipping brick from the box For environmental and cost-saving reasons.

The Chinese version of Xiaomi Mi 11 is available for pre-order today and it will start shipping on January 1st. The entry-level price of 8 GB RAM / 128 GB for the storage model is listed at 3,999.00 yen (~ $ 611). Details of the prices and features of the other versions of the Mi 11 will come at a later time.
