Windows 11, KB5016700 releases two new versions

Microsoft just released a new build of Windows 11 on the Windows Insider Program BETA channel. It is available with or without default activation of new features.

These two new versions of Windows 11 are available for download for a few hours, and they are aimed at PCs registered on the BETA channel. Their deployment is based on the KB5016700 update. Installing it allows the operating system to evolve into version 22621.450 or 22622.450.

As we have indicated, these versions come with new features. On the other hand, Microsoft is implementing a new policy. It consists of presenting two different environments. Thus, Build 22622.450 has new features activated by default, which is not the case with build 22621.450. It is disabled by default.

On the other hand, we find the same content about various fixes and improvements.

Windows 11 and KB5016700, many bug fixes

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint has been improved to better detect and intercept ransomware and advanced attacks. We have improvements around storage replication in case of low bandwidth or WAN congestion.

The giant states that it has corrected a bug that caused features to be displayed in tablet mode for some non-touchscreen devices. Fixed an issue where some application windows displayed blank partitions in the task view preview and error 0x80070026 when copying files from network drives. Usually sihost.exe no longer causes high CPU usage.

Finally, Microsoft Edge no longer crashes when using IE mode. The bug that prevents interactions with the dialog has also been fixed.

We have a series of known issues including a new failure. It can cause audio to drop out.
