A significant increase in whooping cough cases has been observed since the beginning of June in Abitibi-Témiscaminghe.
Since then, nearly a hundred cases have been reported.
The majority of those affected are between 10 and 19 years old.
People with symptoms are advised to avoid contact with at-risk groups, namely young children and the elderly.
Vaccination services are also provided for those who wish to do so.
