A 75-year-old woman presented over a 2-month period with functional urinary tract signs such as burning sensation, pollakiuria and polydipsia with sensation of dry mouth. She does not have a fever or flu syndrome, but she has lost 3 kilograms since the onset of symptoms.

She has a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD Gold I), essential arterial hypertension (HTA) due to beta-blockers and fractured osteoporosis.

She recounts that she has received several courses of antibiotics in recent months for an initial cellular urine bacteria (ECBU) test positive for coli bacteria Wild, with no improvement of symptoms. She received 5 consecutive days of treatment with FURADANTINE (2 capsules x 3/day), a single dose of FOSFOMYCINE-TROMETAMOL, 7 days of levofloxacin (500 mg/day) and finally 5 days of AUGMENTIN (1 g x 3/day).

ECBU performed during all of her treatments found cloudy urine appearance, leukocyte count at 5 million/ml, 10^4 kefir candida.
