Nigerian police have announced that they have arrested two men suspected of being responsible for the high-profile kidnapping of about 20 students in April 2021 in northwest Nigeria, five of whom were killed.

They both confessed to kidnapping students from Greenfield University in Kaduna state and killing five students before paying a ransom and releasing the remaining students.Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adegobe said in a statement late Wednesday.

The remaining 14 students were later released after 40 days in captivity.
