Republican nominee Donald Trump is currently “a little bit of a favorite,” Luc Laliberte told LCN. But Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’s surge in popularity could change the face of the race.
“Quietly, we feel that the issues need to take up more space,” said Luc Laliberte. “We play demagoguery, we play populism, whether positively in the Harris camp or darkly in the Trump camp. We still play on emotions.”
“We may have more meat on the bones,” he added. “Ultimately, there will probably be more fixed situations where [il sera possible de] Make decisions on issues. […] “We're closer to the traditional campaign, to the extent that it still exists.”
According to Mr. Laliberte, Donald Trump would benefit from stopping the attacks against his rival.
“The Republicans want that,” he said. “If I’m a Republican strategist, there are weaknesses on the Democratic side. I don’t want my candidate to engage in personal attacks. I want him to play the cards that appeal to millions of Americans.”
The first of two debates between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris is scheduled for September 10. The election to determine the next US president is scheduled for November 5.
