Trump says Israel should “strike” Iranian nuclear facilities

Donald Trump said on Friday that Israel should “strike” Iranian nuclear facilities.

Speaking in North Carolina, the Republican White House nominee addressed a question posed to President Joe Biden midweek about the possibility of Israel targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.

“They asked him that question,” Donald Trump said. “The answer should have been: Hit the nukes first and worry about the rest later.”

The former Republican president added: “But we will see what their plans are.”

On Wednesday, Joe Biden announced his opposition to Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, in response to the launching of about 200 Iranian missiles towards Israel.

“The answer is no,” Joe Biden told reporters, when asked about his possible support for such action by Israel.

He added: “We seven agree that the Israelis have the right to respond, but they must respond proportionately,” referring to the other G7 leaders.

Donald Trump has so far been particularly silent on the recent escalation in the Middle East.

He simply issued a scathing statement earlier this week, holding President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris responsible for the flare-up of tensions.
