Toulouse. Rio Loko Festival reveals the top seven names on the bill

The first seven names and the poster for the Rio Loco festival have just been revealed. The new edition will take place in the Meadow of Toulouse from Wednesday 15 June to Sunday 19 June 2022.

We already know the first names of the Rio Loco festival. After an online release in 2021, the action returns to the entire candidate’s meadow in Toulouse from Wednesday 15 to Sunday 19 June 2022. On Friday, March 18, organizers unveiled the first names and poster for the 2022 edition.

“The festival will present a 4-stage artistic program with the resumption of permanent concerts and the possibility for the public to roam and enjoy the festival’s green spaces,” Toulouse City Council explains in a press release. This year, the 2022 edition of Rio Loco was dubbed “Nova Onda”. It was named by the Institut Francais-Portuguese “French-Portuguese Season” because of its theme of Portugal’s new musical waves and their influences.

The festival is famous for its international music and music selective programming. Finally the poster was unveiled which is the Portuguese artist, Joanna Vasconceloswho made it. The work is called “Meu Amor Inventado” and is composed of several nods to Portuguese culture. Looking at the poster, “the country’s viticulture, the ancestral art of goldsmithing, but also ‘Coração De Viana’ (the heart of the Viana), the symbol of life, brotherhood, friendship and universal love” is represented.

In response to this visual universe, the festival has unveiled the first seven names of artists in this edition. In the program: “Brazilian artist, Chico Cesar ; Gentle pop imbued with folk and classical music from Danish piano singers, Agnes Opel ; The new Senegalese sound between hip-hop, electro, soul or pop with the artist lass ; The sensory experience and photoelectric universe of the drummer and percussionist Lucia Antunes ; It’s all in the duo’s outstanding passion for European success Lina_Raul Ref ; The refreshing and cheerful “folk instigator” of Asturias (Spain) Rodrigo Cuevas ; Glowing rock from the Portuguese Quartet with enhanced performance break“.

The full program will be announced on Next April 12. At the same time, the site festival It will be open to the public.
