Yuri Glodan was out shopping for groceries when the explosions rang out on Saturday afternoon.

He quickly returns to his apartment to realize that the building was the target of a Russian missile.

As soon as he reached his apartment, he discovered the bodies of his wife, Valeria, and her mother.

A little further away, she laid the body of her three-month-old daughter, Kira.

“We were so happy since he was born. It’s hard to realize that my daughter and wife are no longer there. A Russian missile destroyed the whole world,” Glodan told the BBC.

The man praised his wife as a “wonderful mother”.

“She found the good in everything. Odessa was his favorite city. She worked in PR and listened to people. She understood them (…) It would be impossible to find someone like her. She was perfect. “

So that his memories do not end up in the trash, Yuriy Glodan collects photo albums and personal belongings.

“If you leave things at the property, people will end up throwing them away. I want to remember all of this,” he said.

Saturday’s Russian strikes on Odessa killed at least eight people and injured 18 others, according to Ukrainian authorities.
