The Quebec final of Super Expo-sciences will be held at UdeM

For the first time since 2020, the Super Expo-sciences Hydro-Québec competition, the final in Quebec, will be held face-to-face. Organized by the Technoscience Network, in collaboration with the Admissions and Employment Department of the University of Montreal, the event presented by Hydro-Québec will take place on April 21, 22 and 23 at CEPSUM Sports Hall. The award ceremony will take place on April 23 at 1:30 pm in the atrium of the MIL campus.

S’échelonnant sur trois days, la finale québécoise de ce grand concours scientifique est l’occasion for the people’s passionnées of science decouvrir les 103 meilleurs projects of conception, d’expérimentation and vulgarisation of Québec realisés par des jeunes – 12 years old 20 years. Free of charge, this annual event is open to all those who wish to encourage this young generation who dare science and who, little by little, with innovative ideas, are shaping the world of tomorrow!

A lifelong human experience

Science fairs have been the scientific meeting place for the next generation of Quebec scientists for more than 60 years. Each year, from the provincial finals to the Canada-wide final and the Quebec final, several thousand young people from across the province experience the Hydro-Québec Science Fairs. This adventure is an opportunity for budding scientists to exchange ideas, make friends, and inspire each other. By highlighting the limitless possibilities of science and technology, participants learn to transcend themselves, to dare, and above all, to feel proud of leading a project from start to finish. It is an unforgettable moment that has the potential to influence educational and professional trajectories.

Over $150,000 in awards and scholarships

As part of the regional finals, the University of Montreal Admissions and Employment Service awarded 30 scholarships of $550 each. UdeM Summer School, which will be held from July 3 to 7 at the Mountain Campus. A great way for these young people to continue their journey by exploring various stimulating university majors!

At the Super Expo-sciences Hydro-Québec, Quebec finalist, approximately $150,000 in prizes and scholarships will be awarded. During the closing ceremony, the University of Montreal will present one of the winners with a $3,000 scholarship to cover tuition fees for the first year of undergraduate studies. Among the winners, dozens will represent Quebecers in the Canada-wide competition, scheduled for May 14-19 at the Edmonton Convention Center in Alberta.
