FC Barcelona continues to work hard to bring back Lionel Messi during the summer transfer window. Having competed with Saudi Arabia, the Catalan team is still moving in the right direction.
The Lionel Messi TV series will not know a finale before the end of the season. At least this is what Jorge Messi, the player’s father and agent, recently explained:
“There is absolutely nothing. The decision will not be made until Lionel finishes the championship with PSG. Once the season is over, it will be time to analyze and see what is there, and then we will make a decision.
If no decision is made, La Pulga has received an impressive offer (around €360m) from Saudi Arabia and more specifically from Al-Hilal, who recently reached the final of the AFC Champions League.
Therefore, the Gulf club is considered, until now, the main competitor to FC Barcelona, which made Messi its priority during the upcoming summer transfer period.
But to that end, the Blaugrana are obliged to comply with La Liga’s financial fair play requirements. The body has forced Barcelona to cut back on its lifestyle starting this summer. In other words, the Catalans will have to sell and part with the big earners.
The departure of Sergio Busquets goes in that direction. A decision welcomed by Javier Tebas during an interview with Cadena Cup:
“Busquets’ departure is the beginning of the road towards Messi’s return, the captain believes. But to reach the end, they still have a long way to go. It is not I who will give them the green light, it will be the economic control of the League.
This is still just the beginning for the Catalans, who will have to sell for around 100 million euros, Tebas reported a few days ago.
