This year the medical residency “Les Rossignols”, located in Saint-Lys, committed itself to a cause close to its heart: Pink October. Afternoon work is open to all to learn more about life-saving gestures. With approximately 95% of female employees in the structure, it was apparent to Ms. Fommel, the director of the institution, to raise awareness among staff and residents. Thus emerged the idea of proposing a conference for the early detection of breast cancer. The idea, which was presented to Dr. Singer, immediately had a hit with this former GP, who is now a doctor prescribing Nightingale. “It is our duty to inform the general public about this condition so that the medical profession can take care of it as quickly as possible. Almost all early examinations lead to a cure.” Thus, during this conference that lasted for more than an hour, which took place on October 26 at the medical headquarters, Dr. Singer was able to infuse all his knowledge into self-examination and observational gestures privately. An opportunity to recall the importance of early detection and regular medical monitoring. Residents and their families were invited to the event and responded to the call. One resident explained, “Talking about breast cancer is less taboo today than it was in our time.” A snack on the theme of “Rose” concluded the intervention.
