Sci-fi on Disney +!

Like Jules Vernes, The Crater takes us on a journey from the Earth to the Moon. Between science fiction and family comedy, let’s find out where this Disney + original production takes us!

Overview of the main characters in The Crater movie

The Pit: Head to the Moon!

For once, it’s not Space Mountain or Star Wars that takes us to the stars, but it’s a Disney+ movie. We are presented with a futuristic world that plunges us into the stars until the year 2257; Enough to make us dizzy! This movie is intended for a teenage audience, but also for families with a childlike sense of humor that balances the harsh reality of losing a loved one. Thus the story is about drama, but also about the quest and desire to free the young explorers. Although brief, the summary makes you want to find out what’s in the hole:

Caleb Channing has always lived in a mining colony on the moon. However, the young boy is about to be transported to a distant planet, Id. After the death of his father, he wants to honor his last wishes with the help of his friends Dylan, Burnie, Marcus. That’s when they meet Addison, a newcomer straight from planet Earth. Since then, they decide to explore a mysterious hole together by grabbing an extraction vehicle…

Young and promising team

Filming, which took place from June 21 to August 20, 2021 under the direction of Kyle Patrick Alvarez, took a long time to improve itself. Most of the scenes were filmed in Louisiana, then in California and in the studio’s most interstellar scenes. We discover Kid Cody as Caleb’s father, played by Isaiah Russell Bailey (already seen in Welcome to Mamilla). McKenna Grace, who needs no introduction after her roles in it Annabel or in Marie, carries the female figure from Earth: Addison. Orson Hong (in Only murders in the building) is Bornean; Thomas Boyce is Marcus the Great, Brady Nunn as Hector and Billy Barratt as Dylan, who can be seen piloting a lunar rover in the trailer.
