Lawmakers and elected municipal officials are questioning the strategy adopted by the Russian president, according to the founder of the Raoul Dandurand Chair, Charles Philippe David.

“And this is really surprising given that most, if not all Russian opponents of this war, either went the path of exile, or were imprisoned,” the specialist explains in an interview with LCN.

The far-nationalist right is also critical of Vladimir Putin’s plans.

These activists are “harder than Putin, wondering when the President of Russia will mobilize the entire Russian people, especially the youth in combat, to give more capabilities and resources on the ground,” supports Mr. David.

“So President Vladimir Putin finds himself amid these criticisms, and there is clearly a consensus between the two poles of criticism: Putin is leading a very poor war strategy,” he adds.

These conflicting voices are heard in the wake of the stunning Ukrainian counter-offensive in northern Donbass.

Listen to the interview with Norman Lister, blogger for the Journal de Montreal Journal de Quebec on QUB Radio:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Ukraine has managed to reclaim nearly 6000 km of land in this region.
