RSCA Futsal plays the Final Four this weekend in Palma de Mallorca

From Friday to Sunday, the Final Four of the UEFA Futsal Champions League will take place in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Among the four teams is RSC Anderlecht.

RSCA Futsal, which has never reached this level of competition, qualified for the final round by winning its Elite Tour group at the end of last year in Croatia, beating outgoing champions FC Barcelona.

The Brussels club, who came from former leading club Hull-Gwick, will face Sporting Portugal in the semi-finals on Friday (6pm). The Portuguese club is the winner of the 2019 and 2021 editions and the finalist in the 2011, 2017, 2018 and 2022 editions (against Barcelona). In the two previous matches, when the then Belgian club was called Hal-Gooik, the result was unfavorable for our representatives in 2016-2017 (1-5) and 2017-2018 (3-2).

In the other semi-final, at 9:00 pm, the local Palma de Mallorca team faces another Portuguese team, Benfica.

Sunday will see the funeral (5:00 pm), and then the final (8:00 pm).

A Belgian team won the Futsal Champions League. In 2005, the trophy went to Action 21 Charleroi. The current RSCA coach Luca Kragnaz was Carollos’ goalkeeper. No one has won the title as a player and then as a coach.
