Dubai: Argentine model Georgina Rodriguez came out on Sunday to support her old partner Cristiano Ronaldo in his first match with Al-Nassr against Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Football Championship.

The 37-year-old Portuguese footballer led his team to a 1-0 victory at Al-Marsool Park in Riyadh. Rodriguez cheered her on from the stands, wearing a Ronaldo jersey, cropped jeans and a comfy jacket.

Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo’s 12-year-old son, was also present on the field to cheer for his father.

Rodriguez, 28, posted some photos from his visit to the stadium on social media, sporting a new braided hairstyle. She also shared photos of the famous couple’s friends who joined her for the evening.

Over the weekend, Rodriguez closed out the red carpet for the 2023 Joy Awards in Riyadh. She was wearing a tight dress with a veil. She was joined on the red carpet by Hollywood star Sofia Vergara, who opted for a dazzling look.

The 28-year-old wore a midnight blue velvet dress from Dubai-based Tunisian designer Ali Karoui, gold shoes from Italian luxury shoemaker Le Silla and jewelry from Bahraini jewelry designer Kooheji.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Saudi celebrities, media professionals, several international stars such as Mel Gibson and Michael Bay, and more than 200 Arab stars from various artistic fields.

The event honors artists and influencers who spread joy in the Arab region and around the world, with 15 awards in areas such as television, film, social media influence, sports and music. It also highlighted new faces in certain categories to support and motivate young talent.

Colombian-American actress Vergara accepted the Personality of the Year award, describing it as a “nice” surprise.

She added, “I would like to dedicate this award to all the extraordinary women in the Kingdom and the Middle East who are building a better future.”

Netflix star Georgina Rodriguez, who called Saudi Arabia her home after her partner Ronaldo signed a record deal with Al-Nasr, drew attention to the ceremony, which was attended by actresses Hind Sabri, Reem Saidi and Mila Al-Zahrani.

Showing off her outfit for the evening, she wrote on one of her Instagram posts, “Thank you very much everyone, I love you Saudi Arabia.”
