On Thursday evening, Raja Casablanca introduced its new coach, the Portuguese Ricardo Sa Pinto, whom he appointed at the beginning of the week to replace Bosnian Rosmir Cvejko, who was dismissed due to poor results.
Speaking on the club's official website, the Portuguese technician said that he was “very happy to join this great club and I think we will do a good job.”
“We will look forward to achieving the expected results and competing for titles, and that is why I am here. I will work every day to achieve this, and with the help of my staff and the club management, we will achieve the goals we aim for.” He confirmed.
Sa Pinto (52 years old), born in Porto, arrives at Raja, champion of Morocco and holder of the Throne Cup, with great experience. A former player for the Portuguese national team, he entered the world of coaching in 2009 by serving as sporting director at Sporting Lisbon, before becoming coach of the youth team two years later. In 2012, he became the coach of Lisbon and led them to the Europa League final.
Sa Pinto then coached Red Star Belgrade, Al-Fateh in Saudi Arabia, Vasco da Gama in Brazil, Standard Liege in Belgium and Apoel Nicosi in Cyprus.
As a reminder, Raja Casablanca occupies first place in the overall standings of the Inoue Professional Championship with 9 points, equal to Ittihad Tangier and Ittihad Tawarka. During the first five days, the Greens, who were undefeated last season, won 3 matches and lost 2.
