Cristiano Ronaldo and Fernando Santos ended the 2022 World Cup with disputes, largely due to an episode in the South Korea-Portugal match. The message supposedly meant for a Korean player was actually meant for the Portuguese coach. Paulo Bento, who was on the bench as South Korea’s technical director, analyzed what happened, considering how the captain’s attitude was justified as unpleasant and even immoral.
“On the bench, compared to my players, I didn’t notice anything at all. I know he (Ronaldo) said something to him when he came off. But all that was done about that…..the South Korean player was used in a way to cover up other things and that Not good.
